I’m Tim, an experienced MC and moderator for business conferences, gala dinners, and award ceremonies.
My style? Warm, professional, and focused on making sure everyone on stage — from the Prime Minister to the final award winner — feels at ease, while the audience is engaged and connected. I have a proven knack for keeping things running on time, even when schedules are tight!
When I’m not on stage, you’ll find me in the boardroom advising government and corporates on strategy, on TV or radio sharing insights on business and politics, or writing about the biggest business issues in the paper. And when I’m not doing that? Chances are I’m exploring some intrepid location around the world.

United States Business Summit – Featuring the Prime Minister, Trade Minister, the US Ambassador, and NZ’s top business leaders, presented by NZ INC. and the Auckland Business Chamber (2022-2024).

NZ-ASEAN Business Alliance gala dinner (Kuala Lumpur) – Hosted the gala dinner and awards ceremony held alongside the Summit, organised by the Southeast Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence and the Malaysia NZ Chamber of Commerce (2023).
Matariki gala dinner (Sarawak, Borneo) – Supported by New Zealand’s Southeast Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence and the Malaysia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, the gala dinner included senior officials from the Sarawak government and members of the New Zealand business and alumni communities in Sarawak (2024).
Deloitte post-budget panel – Moderation of Deloitte New Zealand’s post-budget analysis with views from its Partners (2023-2024).
Standing in the Future: New Zealand and the Indo-Pacific Region – the NZ Institute of International Affairs conference covered key themes of Geopolitics, Sustainability, Geo-Economics and Inclusion and included interviews with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and White House coordinator for the Indo-Pacific Kurt Campbell (2021).
APEC CEO Summit – The 2021 Summit was a gathering of the world’s most powerful CEOs, business leaders, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, prime ministers and presidents of APEC economies. Tim moderated a discussion with Jerome Foster II, the youngest-serving member on the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council within US President Biden’s administration. Tim also moderated a panel discussion at the conclusion of the Summit, asking ‘What have we learnt?‘
